波打つように揺らめくフィードバック・ギターと儚くたゆたう有村竜太朗のヴォーカル――マイ・ブラディ・ヴァレンタイン直系のシューゲイザー・サウンドで幕を開けるPlastic Treeの新作『アンモナイト』。80年代のUKニューウェイヴや90年代のグランジ～オルタナ・シーンをはじめ、メンバー個々の幅広いルーツが効果的に散りばめられた本作からは、どこか仄暗い夜の空気にも似た、ファンタスティックな浮遊感が滲み出している。

2010年末にギラン・バレー症候群という難病を発症した有村の驚異的な回復を経て、いよいよ届けられたこの11作目について、有村と長谷川正（ベース）に話を訊いた。
